You can also report a message, a member or a Forum post from inside the app with the reason Child safety. Our Child Safety Standards describe what happens next.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reset my password?

Tap ‘Forgot password’ on the login screen and enter your email. You’ll receive a reset code.

How do I delete my account?

Open Profile, tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner and choose ‘Delete My Account’. This permanently removes all your data. If you are the sole admin of a group with other members, you must transfer admin rights first.

How do I leave a group?

Open the group and choose ‘Leave group’ from the overflow menu in the top right. If you are the only admin and other members remain, the app asks you to pick someone to promote to admin before you go. If you are the last non-managed member, you cannot leave — delete the team instead.

Why am I not receiving notifications?

Check that notifications are enabled in your phone’s settings for InOrOut, and that your notification preferences are turned on in Profile → Notifications.

What are managed members?

Managed members are placeholder accounts created by a group admin for people who don’t have the app yet. They appear in the member list and can RSVP via the admin. Managed members can later be promoted to full accounts when the person joins.

How does time-off status work?

Go to Profile → Time Off to activate time-off with a reason and optional end date. While active, you’re automatically declined from future events in Pro/Business groups. When you deactivate it, those auto-declines are reset.

How do I set up biometric login?

After logging in, you’ll be prompted to enable fingerprint or face unlock. You can also toggle it from Profile → Security. Biometric login stores your credentials securely in the device keychain.

How do I sign in with a QR code?

On the new device, tap Sign in with QR code at the bottom of the login screen. Scan the code with a device where you are already signed in, then type the two-digit number shown on the new device’s screen and tap Approve. The code lasts three minutes, and a wrong two-digit number cancels the attempt — start over with a fresh code.

What is activity planning?

Activity planning lets admins propose multiple date options for an event. Members vote on which dates work. Once voting closes, the admin selects a winning date and it becomes a real event. Available on Pro (up to 3 active) and Business (unlimited).

How do calendar subscriptions work?

Admins can import external iCal/ICS feeds (e.g. from Google Calendar or Outlook) into a group. Events from the feed appear in the group’s calendar. You can filter by title and choose manual or automatic sync. Available on Pro (up to 3) and Business (unlimited).

What does the Coach Pass include?

Coach Pass ($6.99/mo) is a personal subscription that applies Pro features to every group you admin — one payment instead of per-group billing. It also unlocks unlimited groups. Coach Pass+ ($14.99/mo) applies Business features and adds cross-team analytics.

How do I export my data?

Go to Profile → Security → Your Data (GDPR) → Export. This downloads a JSON file containing all personal data we hold about you.

What is attendance confirmation?

After an event occurs, Business-tier admins can confirm who actually attended (vs. who RSVP’d). This tracks real attendance for analytics purposes. Available only on the Business tier.

Why can’t I see chat messages from before I joined?

Chat history is visible from the moment you join a group. Free-tier groups retain 14 days of history; Pro and Business see all of it, up to the 12 months the platform stores chat for.

What are decision deadlines?

A decision deadline is the moment, a set time before the event starts, when the app checks the minimum attendance. If enough people have joined, the event is confirmed; if not, it is cancelled and everyone is told. The deadline needs a minimum attendance to be set, and members can still join or decline afterwards. If a decline then takes a confirmed event below the minimum, the admins are notified so they can decide whether to go ahead. Available on Pro and Business tiers.

Why does the app say the service is unavailable?

The app could not reach our servers. This is almost always a temporary network or maintenance issue, and no action is needed on your side — the app keeps checking and resumes on its own once the connection is restored. If it persists for more than an hour, check your internet connection first, then email us.

Why can’t I sign in — it says my account is suspended?

A suspended account cannot sign in. Suspensions are applied by InOrOut staff, normally in response to a breach of the Terms of Service. Email support@inorout.no from the address on the account and we will explain the reason and what is needed to lift it.
